Viscose yarn becomes costly in China, India

In Jiangsu, 40s compact sirospun yarn prices jumped US cents 11 a kg in the second week of July while 30s spun viscose in Xiaoshan was up US cents 12 a kg on the week. Offers for ring-spun 40s yarn were up US cents 11 a kg during the week.

Viscose spun yarn markets saw liquidity improving, along with the terminal fabric demand. Prices tracked VSF movement, which have been mounting since the past couple of weeks. In Xiaoshan, offers for ring?spun, rotor?spun and siro?spun yarn ascended amid tolerable inventory.

A large number of spinners are reportedly shifting from cotton to viscose yarn making which can play a major role in creating incremental demand for low cost yarns.

In India, viscose yarn prices inched up further, reflecting rising export demand. 30s viscose spun yarn prices inched up again by INR1 a kg (up US cents 2 a kg on the week) in Indore market.

In Pakistan, viscose yarn prices generally rolled over.
