Polyester yarn prices stable to down in Asia

In Qianqing, offers for 32s polyester yarn were down US cents 2-3 a kg in the second week of November.

Spun polyester yarn markets were mixed that week despite prices did not change in the first week while offers were adjusted lower and sporadic deals were concluded.

In China, polyester yarn markets were looking for a direction, although signs are emerging of a new decline in the coming period.

Export were also sluggish and cheaper prices offered by importers for lower counts usually attracted processors.

In India, polyester yarn 30 knitting yarns prices were down US cents 2 a kg (due to weak INR) in Ludhiana market while they remained unchanged in Indore market.

The drop in INR against US$ offered some support to yarn exporters. Demand was however slowing down and market appeared saturated.

Spun yarn makers also had weak appetite as yarn prices were pulled down by weaker cost.

In Pakistan, 30s spun polyester prices were stable on the week.
