Polyester yarn prices fall in India, up in Pakistan

In Shengze, offers for 32s polyester yarn rolled over in the last week of May, and 45s were stable during the week. In Qiangqing, 32s weaving were unchanged on the week.

Offers for spun polyester yarns were steady that week in China, as demand was hard to improve amid insipid demand. Some players had rigid demand to replenish goods while sellers reported slow payment collection.

In India, spun polyester prices retreated to lower levels, despite steady PSF prices. Demand from export markets was down, which could adversely impact profit margins of spinning mills. Polyester yarn 30 knit yarn prices fell INR2 a kg (down US cents 5) in Ludhiana market while they were down US cents 3 a kg in Indore.

In Pakistan, 30s and 60s spun polyester prices were both up US cent 1 a kg on the week. Activities for polyester yarns on the Faisalabad and Karachi yarn markets remained rather stable.
