Polyester yarn price moves down in China, India

In Shengze, offers for 32s polyester yarn fell US cents 7 a kg in the second week of March. In Qiangqing, 32s weaving yarn offers were down US cents 4 a kg on the week.

Polyester spun yarn offers moved down on the back of poor sentiment in China. Prices weakened in line with fall in PSF cost that week, while the enquiring and trading sentiment was thin. As the market enters slack season, and bottom price is yet unclear, yarn producers saw small orders to meet rigid demand.

In India, spun polyester prices gave back previous week’s gain resulting from the decline in PSF prices. Polyester yarn 30 knit yarn prices inched down INR1 a kg (down US cents 2) in Ludhiana market.

In Pakistan, with PSF prices sliding but did not reflect in polyester spun yarn market yet.
