Polyester yarn price inches up in China

In China, offers for 32s polyester yarn in Shengze were up US cent 1 a kg in the third week of May. In Zhejiang, 32s weaving yarn also inched up US cent 1 a kg on the week.

Polyester spun yarn markets in China firmed up as PSF prices grew relatively strong in recent weeks. However, buyers were yet to follow up. Producers raised offers during the week amid brisk trading activities and citing good sales of some specs of polyester yarns. Trading sentiment in spun yarn and greige fabric markets was also activated by firming prices.

In Pakistan, polyester yarn prices rolled over again, almost for a month now, despite PSF prices have lost more than 2% during the same period.

In India, both PSF and polyester yarn prices have remained stable over the week on support of rising exports. In April, exports increased 9% year on year to US$7.65 million.
