In Shengze, offers for 32s polyester yarn fell US cents 2 a kg in the second week of April and 45s were down US cents 4 a kg. In Qiangqing, offers for 32s were stable during the week.
Spun polyester yarns markets were stable amid moderate enquiries and sales. However, offers moderated somewhat in Shengze while they were stable in Qiangqing amid scarce demand and no bulk deals.
Following the shutdown of dyeing and printing units in Jiangsu and a notice of 50% production limitation, run rates of dyeing and printing industry declined. Thus, it was difficult to sell sale grey fabric, and demand for polyester yarn was unsmooth.
In India, polyester yarn prices were raised in line with a fresh increase of 2.5% in PSF prices two weeks ago. Polyester yarn 30 knit yarn prices gained INR3 a kg (up US cents 4) in Ludhiana market.
In Pakistan, PSF prices remained firm with a rise recently, yarn prices remained unchanged reflecting weakness in demand. 30s spun polyester prices rolled over on the week and 60s were steady.
