Polyester spun yarns were exported to 47 countries from India in November 2015 aggregating US$5.73 million with a unit price realization averaging US$2.24 a kg.
Polyester yarn exports were down 9.7 per cent in value as compared to November 2014. Unit price realization was down US cents 39 a kg as compared to November 2014.
A total of 2.56 million kg was exported, of which, 16.8 per cent was shipped by Turkey alone.
Thirteen new destinations were found for polyester yarn in November, of which, Nigeria, Ecuador, Cote D’Ivoire, Togo and Mauritania were the major ones.
Nine countries did not import any polyester yarn from India, including Argentina, Russia, United Arab Emirates and Peru.
Iran, Germany, Syria and Taiwan were among the fastest growing markets for polyester spun yarn, and accounted for 10 per cent of total polyester spun yarn export value.
In November 2015, significant deceleration was seen in export to Italy, Sri Lanka, Slovenia, Djibouti and Bangladesh.
