Asian polyester intermediates, PTA and MEG, prices were pulled down in last week of May 2019 due to bearish downstream sentiment. Feedstock polyester prices were also not supportive and declined during the week, despite buoyant energy prices. PET chip prices plunged amid weak demand.
Nylon or polyamide chip prices continued the downtrend amid sharp falls in CPL markets during the week. Nylon filament yarn prices also edged down on subdued trading.
