Asian paraxylene prices inched up US$5.33 a ton FOB Korea in the fourth week of March.
Paraxylene prices in Asian markets climbed on the week following the trend in upstream energy complex. Prices fell opening the week only to regain in subsequent two days. They fell on weekend in a holiday shortened week.
In Europe, paraxylene spot market was quiet as Easter approached and prices inched up in line with Asian numbers while mixed xylene saw outright price drop in line with gasoline swaps. Spot paraxylene prices gained US$5 a ton FOB Rotterdam during the week.
In US, paraxylene spot declined amid thin liquidity and tighter supply possible in April. Prices resisted Asian gains that week. Downstream demand was but market activity remained limited due to Easter holidays. US spot paraxylene fell US$10 a ton FOB USG on the week.
