In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices fell US cents 4-5 a kg in the first week of May while FDY40D rolled over on the week.
Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were flat during the week while 30D/10F prices were down US cents 1-2 a kg due to weak Yuan.
Monofilament 30D prices were down US cents 3 a kg while 1.5D staple fiber were down US cents 2 a kg.
Nylon filament yarn prices were stable?to?soft amid operating losses that week. As yarn makers operated at high level, production was under pressure from rigid demand.
Given the losses, yarn makers sought to hold prices at a rollover. As a result, market prices appeared stable?to?soft on the back of softening nylon chip and caprolactum prices.
Rigid demand still dominated nylon yarn market, with circular?knitting mills and covering mills operating at 50 capacities, warp?knitting mills and AJ covering mills running at 70% capacity.
Staple fiber and cord fabric values posted a heavy fall. Demand was lackluster for staple fiber, fishing net yarn, monofilament and cord fabric market.
