Nylon yarn prices declined further during the first week of August as operating cost pressure reduced on lower prices of caprolactum and nylon chips. However, demand was also weak as downstream converters could hardly find fresh order intakes amid dull season, restraining demand for nylon yarn and in turn weighing down yarn prices.
In case of non-textile sectors, demand for staple fiber was tolerable with high operating rates, for fishing-net yarn, monofilament and cord fabric was moderate. Nylon yarn prices will remain flat amid easing cost pressure while the reducing supply will help balance demand-supply and limit downside slide with insipid demand amid the seasonal lull.
Semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices in China fell US cents 8 a kg on the week. Also, Nylon DTY 70D/24F and DTY 30D/10F were both down US cents 8 a kg. Monofilament 30D fell US cents 16 while staple fiber was down US cents 8 a kg.
