Nylon yarn price falls amid cautious buying sentiment

In China, FDY70D/24F SD prices fell US cents 3-7 a kg in the second week of May, while FDY40D fell US cents 3-15 a kg on the week. DTY 70D/24F prices also declined US cents 8 a kg and 30D/10F were down US cents 8 a kg. Monofilament 30D prices were stable while nylon staple fiber 1.5D prices fell US cents 10 a kg on the week.

Nylon filament yarn price decline continued, although slowly, on relieved cost pressure and cautious buying sentiment. Downstream converters maintained stable operation, implying rigid demand with bargain hunting activities.

Warp?knitting, weaving and AJ covering sectors operated at 75% capacity, while circular?knitting mills and lacing mills ran at 50% capacities, implying modest demand for nylon yarn. Fishing?net yarn, monofilament, staple fiber and cord fabric makers made some procurement due to lean inventory.
