In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices fell US cents 4 a kg on the upper end while FDY40D were down US cents 7 a kg in the last week of January.

Nylon DTY 70D/24F price rolled over while 30D/10F prices remained unchanged during the week.

Monofilament 30D prices were stable while 1.5D staple fiber was at US$2.11-2.17 a kg.

Nylon filament yarn prices were range bound in weakness and declines were seen in few specs as operating pressure eased with softening of caprolactum and nylon chip prices.

Nylon yarn makers trimmed operating rate resulting from insipid demand with the approach of lunar New Year holidays in China.

Non-textile yarn makers run rate was also lowered while fishing-net yarn makers saw margins thinning while cord fabric makers struggled to break even.

Downstream makers were mostly shut and market continued to be notional as no firm bids or offers were heard during the week.
