In China, semi-dull FDY70D/24F prices inched up US cent 1 a kg in the second week of September while FDY40D gained US cents 4 a kg. Nylon DTY 70D/24F prices were stable while DTY 30D/10F prices also rolled over. Monofilament 30D was stable and staple fiber 1.5D was down US cents 7 a kg.
Nylon filament yarn prices stabilised during the week on support of increased operating pressure due to rising raw material cost of caprolactum and nylon chips. Moreover, industrial yarn prices were also range bound. However, limited order intakes amid dull season and gloomy economic outlook restrained demand for nylon yarn.
In non-textile sectors, demand for staple fiber was tolerable, while for fishing-net yarn, monofilament and cord fabric was modest. In coming weeks, nylon filament prices will be stable from decline amid upswing of cost pressure. Meanwhile, increased production and insipid demand contributed to limited decrease in inventory level. It is expected that nylon yarn markets will move sideways in coming week.
