In China, bright conventional spinning nylon-6 prices rose US$10 a ton in the week ended 26 October 2018 while semi-dull high-speed spinning chip was down US$4 a ton on the week.
Nylon or polyamide chip prices were mostly down amid low feedstock cost in the week. In China, offers for semi-dull nylon chip declined but the drop slowed down that week week as buyers started to bottom-fish.
Market confidence in chip market was dull and thus producers tended to lower the offers. However, downside margin of chip market was smaller amid losses. Meanwhile, plant run rates increased to 77% in the week.
Overall, nylon chip prices may dip in coming weeks.
