Asian caprolactum markers were flat in the third week of May. In China, spot liquid and solid good offers were stable during the week.
Caprolactum prices stopped falling given the rebound in benzene prices, with downstream market welcoming the recovery following buying activities at current low price levels. In China, offers for liquid and solid goods in spot market were range bound. Prices of East European goods were soft amid slow liquidity.
In contract, both Sinopec and Fibrant maintained their May contract nomination unchanged while high?end contract price was offered higher. Demand was modest with run rates at polymerization and yarn makers at 71%.
In Europe, May price direction was still unclear as market witnessed rollovers for May contracts, although some producers insisted on an increase since the market remain short.
