Caprolactum price sinks on insipid demand

Asian markers, the SE and FE markers declined US$50 a ton in the last week of January.

In China, liquid good offers were down US$15 a ton with selling indications also down US$15 a ton.

Solid goods offer fell to US$1,480-1,495 a ton.

Sinopec cut its January contract settlement at US$1,450 a ton for liquid goods while DSM Nanjing announced settlement at US$1,460 a ton for liquid goods.

Caprolactum prices eased on insipid demand and range-bound raw materials and market participants operated on hand-to-mouth volumes.

January contract nominations for high-end goods were not announced.

Run rates of polymerization units were stable at 70% and inventory level fell to 7 days’ worth while the same at yarn makers slipped to, with inventory falling to 28 days’ worth.
