Asian caprolactum markers, the SE and FE were flat in the third week of June, while high?end contract price was offered stable on the week. In China, spot liquid and solid goods offers rolled over during the week.
Caprolactum prices were steady that week on the back of range?bound benzene and supply constraint easing somewhat. Demand remained modest as run rates at polymerization units and yarn makers were at 75%, with no change in inventory levels. In contracts, both Sinopec and Fibrant raised their June contract nominations bring them to a same level.
Discussions for June were ongoing in European caprolactam market, as decreases appear more likely. But reports suggest that higher cost and tight supply of cyclohexane would support contract decision.
