In China, spot liquid good offers were up US$30-55 a ton in the fourth week of May. Offers for liquid and solid goods in China jumped in spot market and discussions in East China were heard at higher levels. Meanwhile, Sinopec raised its May contract nomination while Fibrant settled May much lower than its nomination.
Asian caprolactum markers were down US$100 a ton SE and FE markers at the upper end. Caprolactum markets saw prices recover following active buying activities at current low price levels, although upstream benzene markets were subdued after surging last week.
In Europe, May contracts were yet to be concluded although players agreed a big part of this month’s business at rollovers with some very small increases. Given range?bound benzene that week, caprolactum markets will rebound mildly following buying activities at low price levels.
