In the third week of April, the SE and FE Asian caprolactum markers on the lower end fell US$50 a ton. In China, spot liquid good offers was down US$161 a ton while solid goods declined US$209 a ton on the week). European goods plunged US$30 a ton.
Caprolactum prices in Asia plunged that week on softening feedstock market and lackluster demand. In China, CPL offers moved down due to lower demand while plant run rates declined to 69% in the week.
India imported 3,235 tons of caprolactum in February 2018, down 32% as compared to the previous month.
In Europe, trading activity in the nylon chip market was thin during the week while May contract talks were yet to conclude.
Overall, CPL market is expected to slip further in coming weeks amid reducing demand.
