Asian caprolactum markers, the SE and FE were flat in the second week of October while Japanese goods were stable on the week. East European goods were firm during the week.
In China, spot offers spot inched down US$15 a ton while low?end solid good offers were down US$70 a ton on the week.
Caprolactum values dipped amid modest demand despite slight uptrend in raw material benzene cost. In China, offers for liquid goods inched down while low?end solid goods were cheaper.
Sinopec retained its October nomination for liquid goods while Fibrant announced October contract which was up US$35 from September for liquid goods. Fibrant Chemical announced October nomination up from September while other September contract prices were partially settled.
Downstream run rates of polymerization units and yarn makers were up with low to modest inventory levels. With converters ramping up run rate and caprolactum makers cutting operation, the market fundamental was in balance.
