In Qianqing, PC (65/35) 32s and 45s PC combed yarn prices were both down US cents 2-3 a kg in the last week of June. 32s PV (65/35) were down US cents 2 a kg on the week. In China, there was negligible variation in blended yarn prices, reflecting trends on fiber markets. Demand remained relatively depressed, as usual in this part of the year. Yarn maker could however take advantage of the Brexit vote that pushed US$ up against the Renminbi. As a result, import yarn prices rose and demand from yarn buyers could decline further.
In Pakistan, prices of PC and PV yarns did not change during the week as demand was improving on the Faisalabad yarn market. Operating rates at spinning units were reducing again partially due to the tight cotton supply in this part of the year. 20s PC (52/48) carded yarn prices remained unchanged on the Faisalabad market while 30s rolled over on the week.
In India, cotton prices surged further but relatively slower, increasing blending cost. Blended yarn prices were still stable rolling over from last week. 30s (65/35) PV warp yarns were fell US cent 1 a kg in Indore market. In Ludhiana, PC 30s (52/48) prices were stable during the week.
