ASF prices stable to up in Asia

Offers for Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow rose US cents 2 a kg in the third week of September while regular specs were flat on the week. In China, medium-length staple fiber and cotton-type staple prices rolled over during the week.

Acrylic staple fibre prices were stable to up since upstream acrylonitrile values were still high under planned supply, while downstream yarn makers mainly purchased from hand to mouth volumes. However, mills showed better appetites on the back of stable acrylic yarn sentiment, but overall performance remained lackluster.

In China, run rate was still, while cost pressure increased on the back of rising raw material cost. Thus, ASF producers suffered certain losses, although liquidity improved.

ASF prices in India and Pakistan generally rolled over on firm cost.
