ASF prices remain firm in Asia

In China, medium-length fiber and cotton-type staple ASF prices remained firm in the last week of February.

Acrylic staple fibre prices remained range bound across Asian markets during the week on support of rising acrylonitrile sentiment. In China, producers mulled to hike list prices at the end of the week. However, cost pressure was still lingering, seeing acrylonitrile cost on the upswing. Downstream demand was sound, as some converters have not stocked up adequate raw materials.

In India, ASF prices rolled over but producers were planning to raise the prices.

In Pakistan, ASF prices remained unchanged on the week. Citing rising raw material cost, ASF producers are likely to raise prices further up in coming week.
