ASF price remains unchanged in Asian markets

Acrylic staple fibre prices remained unchanged in the second week of May amid quiet trading sentiment. With end-use demand weakening, yarn makers faced poor fresh order-intake and showed mute buying interest for acrylic fibers. However, overall inventory level was relatively under control on back of some maintenance shutdowns in China and some majors’ export orders. Jilin Chemical Fiber kept its list prices for May unchanged on the week.

In India, prices rolled over and in turn transaction remained insipid. Producers will start seeing margins improving since ACN prices have fallen that week.

In Pakistan, ASF producers maintained stable prices amid demand.
