ASF price moves up in Asia

Offers for Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow jumped US cents 15 a kg in the first week of March. In China, ASF prices firmed up with medium-length fiber and cotton-type staple offers up US cents 7 a kg on the week.

Acrylic staple fibre markets in Asia remained range bound after the price hike. Pushed by firm acrylonitrile cost, major ASF producers in China raised offers. However, since the cost pressure was not relieved yet with acrylonitrile cost still on the upswing, ASF prices are likely to be adjusted up further later. The upcoming turnaround season may be a factor to underpin sentiment.

ASF prices in Indian and Pakistan, however rolled over.
