ASF price inches up in India, Pakistan

In China, medium-length staple fiber and cotton-type staple prices rolled over in the second week of June.

Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow offers were stable at US$1.55-1.65 a kg while offers for regular products were at US$1.50-1.55 a kg, both rolling over last week.

Acrylic staple fibre prices remained stable on the week although acrylonitrile cost surged over past few week which has put ASF margins into red. Thus, ASF run rate was cut in China. Overall, trading activity was mute, given low buying interest ahead of the Dragon Boat Festival early in the week.

Post holidays, prices were stable, while trading atmosphere was lackluster. Despite lingering off-season atmosphere in June, wool/acrylic 10/90 yarn performance showed some resurgence, amid improving demand.

In Pakistan, 1.2D ASF prices were up US cent 1 a kg on the week.

In India, ASF offers were up US cent 1 a kg due to weak US$ during the week.
