ASF price declines in India, firm in China

In China, ASF prices rolled over in the first week of December with medium-length fibre and cotton-type flat on the week. Taiwan origin 3D bright ASF tow offers were up US cents 4 a kg during the week.

Acrylic staple fibre prices were stable in the Asian markets of China while they fell in India and stable in Pakistan. In China, ASF offers were steady as there was limited support from the upstream ACN market during the week.

Downstream yarn mills in China held bearish expectation toward ASF market, and made more measured procurement on the limited terminal demand recently. Producers operated at reduced run rate in order to maintain normal inventory.

In India, ASF offers fell INR5.50 a kg (down US cents 7) during the week.

In Pakistan, 1.2D ASF were unchanged on the week.
