Asian acrylonitrile markers were flat in the second week of October. In China, offers for offshore cargoes were range bound during the week.
Acrylonitrile prices were flat across the board that week in Asian markets amid thin trade and limited spot interest. In China, talk remained thin despite return from holiday amid limited discussion.
In US, acrylonitrile contract prices increased with CGP as participants talked pricing stable, adding that higher pricing in September propylene contracts could translate to higher acrylonitrile pricing. Spot prices were assessed steady amid tight global supply and strong demand.
European acrylonitrile prices were lifted by Asian tightness as fibre producers turned to Europe on low Asian supply. European acrylonitrile prices gained US$30 a ton CIF Mediterranean on the week.
