Asian acrylonitrile prices were stable in the first week of April. In China, offers for offshore cargoes were flat while Indian ACN prices rolled over on the week.
Acrylonitrile prices in Asian markets were assessed stable week on week amid thin trade and standoff between buy and sell sides. Meanwhile, supply is expected to increase with China's Jilin Petrochemical planning to restart its 120,000 ton/year No. 3 line acrylonitrile plant in mid-April from an ongoing maintenance.
In US, ACN spot plunged from over a two-year high amid thin trading and on expectation that April propylene contract price could drop. However, no export cargo was available. Acrylonitrile export price fell from over a two-year high, assessed US$40 a ton FOB USG down on the week.
In Europe, ACN spot supply remained absent and prices remained unmoved.
