Asian acrylonitrile marker, the CFR Far East Asia and Southeast Asia were up US$15 a ton in the third week of March.
In China, sporadic offers for offshore cargoes were down US$10 a ton on the week, but buyers were mainly on the sideline.
Acrylonitrile prices in Asian markets rose as demand picked up for spring and looming peak demand season for fertilizer. In China, acrylonitrile spot market was quiet given subdued demand and low domestic value while buying interest remained cautious on less positive market outlook.
European acrylonitrile prices were flat on the week while rises may be seen on higher global prices while Asian prices continue ascent. European acrylonitrile spot prices were stable after rising US$50 in the second week.
In US, spot acrylonitrile was stagnant but could move higher as feedstock propylene settled higher. Demand was stable with supply tightening. US acrylonitrile export assessment was flat on the week on firm fundamentals.
