Kudro Kids launches sustainable denim for kids

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-03-06 16:50:40 – USA

Kudro Kids, a recently launched small-batch denim brand, focuses on sustainability at every stage of production. Founded earlier this year by Rebecca Ford, the brand offers gender-neutral denim for children aged 2-12. It uses eco-friendly fabrics, dyes, and trims while also running a takeback program to extend the life of its jeans.

Ford believes sustainability involves multiple efforts. Kudro Kids is Fair Trade Certified, ensuring ethical labor practices, and a member of 1% For The Planet, pledging to donate 1% of annual sales to environmental causes.

The brand sources its denim from Advance Denim, China’s oldest denim mill, using organic cotton, sustainably sourced cotton, lyocell, and Lycra T400 EcoMade. Kudro avoids excessive use of virgin polyester, keeping its polyester content below 10%.

The brand also uses CleanKore technology for dyeing, which eliminates harmful chemicals like potassium permanganate while reducing water, energy, and carbon emissions. Laser and air-wash techniques replace traditional stone-washing, and trims are chosen with sustainability in mind, including Jacron patches and eco-friendly hardware.

Ford emphasized that comfort is crucial in children's clothing. Many fast-fashion brands compromise fabric quality for affordability, but Kudro prioritizes soft, wearable denim. This ensures kids enjoy wearing jeans without discomfort.
