Ganni partners with Ambercycle to integrate Cycora fiber

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-02-13 15:59:58 – USA

Danish womenswear brand Ganni has signed an agreement to purchase cycora, a regenerated polyester made from end-of-life textiles, from Ambercycle’s first commercial production facility.

Through this agreement, Ganni plans to incorporate cycora into its designs, replacing over 20% of its annual use of virgin and recycled polyester made from plastic bottles with this sustainable alternative.

Made from discarded textiles, cycora provides a sustainable alternative to conventional polyester, reducing waste and decreasing dependence on newly sourced raw materials. Its high quality and durability make it suitable for premium and performance-driven applications

“At Ganni, we constantly seek ways to minimize our impact,” said Ganni’s founder, Nicolaj Reffstrup. “Partnering with Ambercycle on this offtake agreement is a crucial step in our journey towards circular and low-impact solutions. Scaling innovative materials like cycora is essential in reducing fashion’s carbon footprint. We must support innovators and foster long-term collaborations while staying accountable for making better material choices. We’re excited to see the positive impact of this partnership in the years ahead.”

Shay Sethi, co-founder and CEO of Ambercycle, emphasized the importance of working together to drive sustainability in fashion. “Collaboration is key to building a circular future. Partnering with progressive brands like Ganni allows us to make steady progress in reshaping the fashion industry.”
