Suedwolle Group has partnered with LENZING AG and Culp Home Fashions to introduce a groundbreaking range of home textile fabrics combining wool and TENCEL Lyocell fibers. This innovative collaboration aims to improve sleep comfort while offering a fresh, design-forward perspective for home textiles.
The collection blends modern minimalism with vintage-inspired patchwork, featuring angular patterns and a neutral color palette that balances warm and cool tones. This approach moves beyond the typical greys and blues of the mattress market, offering a sophisticated aesthetic to complement the luxurious softness of TENCEL Lyocell.
The wool and TENCEL Lyocell blend delivers both functional and aesthetic benefits. Wool's temperature-regulating, moisture-wicking, and breathable properties maintain a dry, comfortable sleep environment, while TENCEL Lyocell enhances softness, moisture control, and hygiene by reducing odor-causing bacteria. Together, these fibers create an ideal balance for a healthier and more comfortable sleep experience.
Key to the fabric’s success is Suedwolle Group’s Oakport Nm 36/1 yarn, a 50/50 blend of 19.3µ Merino wool and 3.3 dtex TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers. This yarn enhances the fabric’s softness, durability, and versatility in home textile applications.
The collaboration also explored opportunities for innovation, including the development of a core color palette and premium design options for broader applications. Tommy Bruno, president of Culp Home Fashions, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Working with industry-leading fiber and yarn suppliers has resulted in an innovative and foundational fabric that will shape future product development.”
