Zaber & Zubair Fabrics unveils sustainable fabrics

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2025-01-16 14:26:41 – Bangladesh

Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Ltd., a top fabric manufacturer in Bangladesh, has launched a diverse range of products made from recycled and eco-friendly fibers. This initiative aims to meet the increasing demand for sustainable materials and minimize environmental and health risks. The company is showcasing its innovations during "Fabric Week" at its marketing office in Gulshan, Dhaka.

On the second day of the event, Subhasish Bose, Assistant General Manager of Product Development, highlighted the introduction of products made with recycled cotton and polyester. Zaber & Zubair is collaborating with global leaders like Recover and CiCLO Recycled Fibers for these developments.

The company has created garments with 20% Recover fiber and is also using CiCLO fibers, which are 100% biodegradable. These fibers require dyeing due to their origins from colored garment waste. Two types of pants made with CiCLO fibers are being displayed at the event.

Zaber & Zubair, in partnership with GreenMil, has introduced fabrics made from Sorona fibers. These fibers, made from 37% corn-based materials, offer stretch and recovery without elastane, making them recyclable. Sorona also provides quick-drying properties, presenting a sustainable alternative to spandex.

Md. Shofiqur Rahman, Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, emphasized that Zaber & Zubair remains committed to developing eco-friendly fabrics, contributing to the EU's goal of zero carbon emissions by 2050. European brands continue to lead the shift toward sustainability, inspiring others to follow suit.
