Vietnam-based Saitex Mill has announced that it has become a Bluesign System Partner, following the lead of Saitex Laundry, which became the first denim laundry partner for the program over a decade ago.
Led by Sanjeev Bahl, Saitex is a certified B Corporation that has gained recognition globally for its sustainable denim production. The company uses innovative techniques to save water and reduce the negative environmental impact often associated with denim manufacturing.
The vertical manufacturer works with brands like Everlane and J.Crew and supports Bluesign’s growing Denim Initiative. This initiative aims to unite key players in the denim industry to create products that are safer for both people and the environment. According to Bluesign CEO Daniel Rüfenacht, the long-standing partnership is helping to significantly reduce the global environmental footprint of denim production.
Rüfenacht also mentioned that brands can now source Bluesign-approved denim fabrics from Saitex Mill. With both the mill and laundry systems now approved, brands can label their products as Bluesign Denim, ensuring the entire production process is sustainable and fully compliant.
"With Bluesign, we're not just raising the standard for responsible denim manufacturing; we're contributing to a larger movement for clean chemistry," Bahl said. "Our aim is to make sure the manufacturing process is safe for both people and the environment, and that our operations are as efficient as possible."
