Outdoor brand Rab, owned by Equip Outdoor Technologies, has announced a strategic partnership with aftercare expert Grangers. Together, they will launch Grangers Down Defend, an advanced down treatment designed for extreme conditions, set to debut in Rab's Autumn/Winter 2025 collection.

Developed over three years, Grangers Down Defend improves the hydrophobic properties of down, enhancing warmth, comfort, and durability. The treatment exceeds rigorous shake tests, lasting over 2,000 minutes for recycled down and 15,000 minutes for virgin down, while maintaining insulation through up to 40 washes. It is bluesign approved and PFAS-free, aligning with Rab’s commitment to sustainability.

Rab will also streamline aftermarket treatments for insulation and shell wash, ensuring the brand's gear performs optimally in harsh conditions. Tim Fish, Rab's product director, emphasized the importance of partnerships in achieving high-performance products, while Natasha Barwell-Jones of Grangers highlighted their shared values of sustainability and performance in enhancing the outdoor experience.
