GreenStitch plans to reduce carbon emissions by 2030

YarnsandFibers News Bureau 2024-07-08 12:59:37 – India

GreenStitch, a sustainability-focused SaaS provider in the fashion and textiles industry, has set an ambitious goal to manage one billion tonnes of carbon emissions by 2030. The Bengaluru-based company, co-founded by Narendra Makwana and Arpit Samdani in April 2023, has already managed around 15 million tonnes of carbon emissions.

“Currently, global emissions are around 54 billion tonnes, with projections indicating an increase to approximately 75 billion tonnes by 2030. So far, we have managed around 15 million tonnes of carbon emissions and by 2030, our target is to manage 1 billion tonnes,” said Makwana.

"We are primarily focusing on Southeast Asia, where the majority of the world’s textile and fashion emissions occur. In the future, we aim to expand our offerings beyond India and a few European countries to reach new markets,” said Samdani.

Within its first year, GreenStitch has provided sustainability solutions to over 100 factories. Its Indian clients include Eastman Exports, Filatex, and Nahar Spinning Mills, while its global clients include IDH and Incredible Fashions. GreenStitch aims to expand its client base to over 1,000 by the end of fiscal year 2025 and to work with more than 10,000 factories by fiscal year 2026.
