Polyester manufacturer Selenis has announced its successful production of recycled PET chips using terephthalic acid sourced from textile recycling specialist Circ. This innovative process transforms polycotton textile waste into high-quality PET chips, marking a significant advancement in sustainable material production.

The PET chips produced by Selenis have been further processed into drawn textured (DTY) yarn, demonstrating the material's viability and quality. This development highlights the potential for recycled materials to meet industry standards, promoting a circular economy within the textile sector.

This breakthrough serves as a critical step towards an offtake agreement between Selenis and Circ.
