The President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Faruque Hassan, recently held a meeting with Karin Lind and Fredrik Kragh Myllenberg from H&M Group, a well-known global fashion retailer. The meeting took place in Hong Kong, focusing on establishing a lasting partnership, expanding H&M's presence in Bangladesh, and jointly promoting sustainability initiatives in the garment industry.

During the meeting, Azfar Hassan, the director of Giant Group, was also present. Both parties emphasized their ongoing collaboration to achieve shared sustainability goals, with a particular focus on steering towards a circular and climate-neutral garment industry in Bangladesh.

Faruque Hassan expressed gratitude to H&M Group for their support to Bangladeshi suppliers in implementing the recently announced minimum wage. He acknowledged H&M's efforts in adjusting order prices and commended their commitment to investing in renewable energy in Bangladesh, aligning with global initiatives to reduce emissions.
