Patagonia has made an announcement of launching a new online portal to assist its customers to access the repair services in Europe. It has also invited other brands to follow the same.
The repair portal will be known as ‘Worn and Wear’, which will enable the customers to file a repair request 24/7 while also allowing them to track their request. The materials to be repaired will be sent directly from the customers to either some store or to Patagonia's network of outside 'fixers'. To facilitate the same, the company is hiring the 'fixers', directly and indirectly. It is also aiming to expand its European base of repair staff in the next four years.
The brand is also a co-founder of the Amsterdam-based United Repair Centre, which trains the experienced clothing makers and repairers with a guarantee to provide the work.
Patagonia’s director of finance and operations for the EMEA region, Willem Swager said, “At Patagonia, we know that offering free repairs brings us many benefits, and a unique moment to engage with our customers – and to scale our impact, we are looking for companies to join us in the repair movement.”
