Swedish textile recycling innovator Renewcell has signed a letter of intent with China Textile Academy Green Fibre (CTA Green Fibre), a Chinese lyocell fibre producer, concerning a long-term commercial collaboration around man-made cellulosic fiber production. The agreement confirms the two businesses' intention to collaborate in order to offer leading global fashion brands lyocell textile fibers derived from Circulose®, Renewcell's 100% recycled textile pulp, in the upcoming years. The Ekman Group, Renewcell's sole international trading partner, assisted in facilitating the agreement.

Patrik Lundström, Renewcell’s CEO, said that with this collaboration, they take a further step in establishing the usability of Circulose® in the commercial-scale manufacturing of lyocell fibers. Their fashion brand partners strongly value the high-quality, low-impact Lyocell fiber, which is produced utilizing a closed-loop system and will soon be offered with Circulose® recycled from textile waste. He is amazed by CTA Green Fibre's innovative ability and leadership, and he looks forward to working with them to create circular fashion together.

The groundwork for a forthcoming offtake agreement between the parties is provided by the Letter of Intent that Renewcell and CTA Green Fibre inked. Commercial parameters for the delivery of 18,000 tonnes of Circulose® dissolving pulp to CTA Green Fibre over a five-year period will be outlined in the future legally binding offtake agreement. Circulose® will be used by CTA Green Fibre as a feedstock to create lyocell fibers that will be sold to textile producers and clothing companies.
