Intradeco Holdings, a global vertical-manufacturing company supplying high-quality casual clothing and thermal underwear, and its partner Recover Brands has received a Global Union Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) Certification for manufacturing recycled t-shirts.
A product, method, service, or organization that has received a Control Union Certification is guaranteed to meet the criteria of the applicable inspection or certification standard.
Intradeco's t-shirt production system's potential inputs, outputs, and environmental consequences were gathered and assessed as part of Peterson's LCA study. It covered every step of the production of Intradeco's recycled t-shirts, including cotton regeneration, upcycled cotton yarns, the regeneration process, textile waste procurement, sorting, fiber regeneration, opening and carding, spinning, and inventing of Intradeco's own product, regenyarnsâ„¢. 100% recycled materials are used to create Regenyarnsâ„¢. They are made from post-consumer plastic trash and post-industrial textile waste.
The combination of Intradeco's cotton spinning company in El Salvador, Central America Spinning Works (CASW), and its partnership with the apparel and accessory brand Recover Brands led to the LCA certification.
Luis Marquina, Intradeco Chief Operating Officer, said that they are very delighted to have won this accolade for the manufacture of their recycled t-shirts. The goal of Intradeco and CASW is to create the greatest sustainable fabrics. They have therefore been slavishly researching and creating a 100% recyclable product. When regenyarnsâ„¢ was created in 2020, all of their efforts paid off. They began processing post-consumer garbage in December 2022, and now that they are LCA certified, both their retail clients and consumers can be confident that they have complied with all the strict criteria for a fully circular product.
Bill Johnston, President of Recover Brands, said that Recover Brands has been producing 100% recycled clothing since 2010, and the LCA certification further demonstrates their dedication to sustainability. They are able to provide their customers with a fully circular textile recycling system that is now accredited, thanks to their vertical supply chain in El Salvador.
