Through its partnership with Volt, Textile Instruments has developed a fabric-based wearable platform with an ability to scale to the masses. A key aspect of the platform is the versatility of Volt’s conductive smart yarns that can be custom-made with passive sensors. Using NASA sensor technology that works without electrical connections (SanSEC), Textile Instruments partnered with Volt Wearable Tech to pair SanSEC with Volt’s highly conductive smart yarn to allow for application in any textile.

Textile Instruments LLC’s functional fabric took home the World Textile Information Network Future Textile Award for Innovative Start-up at the 2018 Innovate Textile and Apparel Conference in Amsterdam. Textile Instruments demonstrated a washable fabric that monitors temperature, heart rate, touch and other health-related vitals without wires and battery packs.
