British knitwear and outerwear brand, Peregrine, has pledged to convert to 100% regeneratively produced wool by 2026, working only with UK farmers.

With 20% of Peregrine's British wool collection coming from a transitional regenerative farm in Rye, East Sussex, this year "marks the start of the journey," and the volume will increase 20% annually through 2026.

In coordination with the UK farming community, the brand has developed "a realistic and progressive approach," realizing that a large systems transformation cannot occur overnight.

Peregrine also thinks that all farmers should be able to make the change, so it has partnered with Pasture for Life, a UK-based certification organization for regenerative farmers who are committed to 100% pasture-fed livestock.

Additionally, Peregrine is collaborating with Soil Mentor, low-cost software that empowers farmers to make a difference by providing simple benchmarking and coaching to enhance soil health on farms.

The clothing company, which makes its best-selling "Hudson Aran Jumper" in the UK, has placed a special emphasis on assisting in the rehabilitation of local landscapes, soil, and habitats while also reducing the additional carbon emissions caused by importing wool.

Peregrine Managing Director, Tom Glover, said that the UK is one of the most depleted countries in the world, and they are assisting farmers who are trying to change this narrative. They’re able to change things at the farm level and contribute to the national push toward more environmentally friendly agricultural techniques because of their work with Pasture for Life and Soil Mentor.
