Following its first debut in Europe last year, luxury e-tailer Mytheresa and resale platform Vestiaire Collective have expanded their second-hand clothes business to the US market.
The collaboration enables Mytheresa users to sell their used things through a dedicated web interface managed by Vestiaire Collective.
Following great results in Europe, Mytheresa announced that the service will now be accessible to its "best clientele" in the United States.
Mytheresa CEO Michael Kliger, said that they're pleased to extend their unique and innovative partnership with Vestiaire Collective to the enormously important US market after remarkable success in Europe.
According to him, the service "will give a substantial value to our committed US clients by giving their designer products a second life while also fulfilling our ESG commitment to encourage circularity within the industry."
Vestiaire Collective chief Maximilian Bittner added that they're convinced that US clients will enjoy their trustworthy authentication service and the simplicity of their platform, which has already met with resounding success in Europe. They think that by exposing more luxury customers to resale, they will increase its role in creating a more sustainable and inclusive fashion business.
