Elevate Textiles, the parent company of Cone Denim, American & Efird, Burlington, Gütermann, and Safety Components, announced that it has joined the Textile Exchange organization, a global non-profit dedicated to making a positive impact on climate change in the textile and fashion industries.

Elevate and its brands will use this membership to accelerate and increase their use of preferred fibers. Elevate stated that it agrees with Textile Exchange that in order for meaningful change to occur, everyone in the sector must work together as a community to provide clear paths to positive impact.

Textile Exchange assists brands, manufacturers, and farmers in moving toward more purposeful manufacturing, beginning with raw materials and fibers. Its objective is to assist the industry to achieve a 45% reduction in emissions from fiber and raw material production by 2030, accelerating the adoption of methods that promote water, soil health, and biodiversity.

Elevate Textiles is now participating in the 2025 Recycled Polyester Challenge organized by Textile Exchange. Textile Exchange and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change's Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action created the Challenge to assist trigger a market shift toward the usage of recycled polyester and the associated decrease in greenhouse gases. The joint initiatives challenge the industry to increase the percentage of recycled polyester from 14% to 45% by 2025.

Jimmy Summers, chief sustainability officer for Elevate Textiles, said that they’re thrilled to expand their participation in the major projects that the professionals at Textile Exchange are driving ahead to minimize their impact and enhance sustainability practices even further. This membership provides their company and brands with extra tools to accomplish preferred fiber targets and decrease their impact holistically from the start of the supply chain.

Summers added that several of the company's facilities are presently implementing Textile Exchange standards, specifically the Organic Content Standard, Recycled Content Standard, and Global Recycled Standard. They look forward to continuing their collaboration with the organization to supply the most socially and ecologically sourced products available.

Elevate and its portfolio brands provide products across industries such as fashion and functional apparel, footwear, military, fire, medical, athletic, automotive, aerospace, outdoor, and other specialty sectors, with a global array of premium fabric and thread solutions focused on innovation, sustainability, and quality craftsmanship.
