Otrium, the end-of-season fashion platform, has been named the British Fashion Council's newest patron and has joined the Science-Based Targets project (SBTi). The sponsorship reflects Otrium's vision of a world where all clothing is worn and the British Fashion Council's ambition to build a successful circular fashion economy.
As a patron, Otrium will assist the British Fashion Council (BFC) in delivering significant and impactful programs that will benefit the industry as a whole. Otrium will specifically assist the BFC in developing plans for more sustainable business practices, as well as how fashion businesses report their environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) progress and credentials.
Milan Daniels, co-CEO and co-founder of Otrium, will also join the BFC's Industry Advisory Board as part of the patronage to oversee, assist, and advise on major industry concerns.
Otrium joins the British Fashion Council's existing 36 patrons, which include Depop, Farfetch, Yoox Net-A-Porter, Burberry, and Chanel.
Daniels said that beginning patronage with the BFC is a significant milestone for Otrium. They envision a world in which all clothing is worn, and supporting the British Fashion Council's work is an important step toward that goal. They are excited to engage with the British Fashion Council's broader network and to drive long-term good change in the industry.
Otrium was created to address the fashion industry's unsold inventory problem by providing fashion labels with an online outlet channel as well as the digital technologies needed to intelligently link their end-of-season collections with fashion fans.
Otrium believes that all clothes should be worn and works with its brand partners to guarantee that unsold products have the best opportunity of finding a new owner.
Caroline Rush, BFC chief executive, said that they’re happy to welcome Otrium as a BFC supporter. Otrium's knowledge will be critical for their enlarged network as they embark on an essential journey to make the British fashion industry circular. They are excited to collaborate with Otirum to effect positive change in the industry.
The endorsement comes as Otrium reaches new heights, with over 3.5 million registered members and 400 brand partners now active. Zadig and Voltaire, All Saints, Viktor & Rolf, and Thakoon are among the most recent labels to join the roster.
