London-based second-hand clothing platform, Thrift+, has officially launched "Preloved. Reloved," its first retail second-hand partner store on FatFace.
Customers can browse high-quality second-hand FatFace garments starting at £10 in the online store, which sits alongside the brand's new FatFace collections on the brand's website.
Thrift+ is recognized for running fashion takeback services with well-known brands and shops including FARFETCH, Browns, and French Connection, but this is the first time the company has expanded its portfolio to include powering a partner second-hand store. It's a new "preloved" shopping effort that will soon be rolled out with additional partners.
Joe Metcalfe, CEO of Thrift+, said that from their first encounter with FatFace, it was evident how committed they are to lowering their environmental footprint. It's great to see such a well-known brand take such big steps toward making fashion more circular - both by taking responsibility for clothing at the end of its first life and by launching the preloved store, which puts second-hand clothing shopping into the mainstream.
Metcalfe added that at the heart of Thrift+'s approach is a collaboration with shop partners, and delivering a re-sale as well as takeback service is a critical step on our journey to powering the circular economy for fashion. Fashion's circularity is just getting started, but the rate of change is accelerating.
The preloved store is the next step in growing cooperation with FatFace, which just launched its own apparel takeback service last month, rewarding customers with credits that can be donated or spent online. Many of the FatFace branded items that are given end up in the preloved store.
Liam Price, FatFace Head of ecommerce, said that they're pleased to be teaming with Thrift+ on supercharging their sustainability efforts with the inclusion of the preloved store, complimenting the wonderful work already being done throughout the brand.
