Swiss developer of DNA traceability solutions, Haelixa, has partnered with UK-based supply chain compliance experts QIMA, to offer a unique package of physical traceability and auditing services. The service fulfills the demand for 100% reliable data linked to product origins and standards applied in global supply chains.
From source to retail, Haelixa's traceability solution delivers a forensic confirmation of product origin and authenticity. The organization can create a one-of-a-kind DNA identifier that may be used to identify a specific brand, supplier, collection, or even production lot and material type (e.g. recycled or non-recycled).
Unlike a paper-based chain of custody or blockchains, product information is never separated from the product itself, but rather is permanently incorporated in it and cannot be tampered with.
Brands, retailers, and importers partner with QIMA to secure, manage, and optimize their worldwide supply networks. In addition to onsite inspections, supplier audits, lab testing, and certification, the organization operates in over 85 countries and has a digital platform that provides accurate intelligence related to quality and compliance.
Product information can be read out at any stage during production using systematic sampling and testing of 'Marked and Traced by Haelixa' products, allowing for the first time off-site examination in addition to traditional on-site inspection through auditing.
Haelixa's technology makes data reconciliation between all nodes of the supply chain simple and economical, preventing and detecting inconsistencies between and at each step. The Haelixa marker application can be audited onsite by QIMA to add another layer of monitoring and control. The two companies have partnered to provide consolidated reporting that links Haelixa's traceability data with QIMA audit and inspection data collected at all tiers, giving brands and retailers complete visibility into their product's supply chain and the ability to tie it to their suppliers' quality and compliance performance.
Sebastien Breteau, QIMA’s founder and CEO, said that Haelixa's technology is a wonderful fit for QIMA's global reach and the services they're offering. By working together, they can assist brands and retailers in improving their traceability game.
Michela Puddu, CEO of Haelixa, said that this combination has a strong value proposition in times when brands and suppliers are under increasing pressure from end-consumers and authorities to ensure that social and environmental norms are upheld in their supply chain.
